GOPHERS GET SOME BEEF AND A NEW APPROACH

The Minnesota Gophers have made two new big improvements: they've added huge linemen, and they've also have got a new offensive coordinator, Jedd Fisch. Here are some of the weights on the Gophers new O-line: 280, 297, 315, and 350. Whose got the beef? Gophers' got the beef! Here are some clues to Fisch's offensive scheme: the quarterback is under center instead of in the shotgun. There will also be more play-action plays. And there will be real fullbacks running around! I know, it's a miracle! No offense to the great Minnesota program, of course.

T.O. TO BUFFALO

Former Cowboy Wide Receiver Terrell Owens signed with the Buffalo Bills for a 1/$6.5 million deal. $4 million guarantied. The Vikings supposedly did not make a move to try to get T.O.. The good part, it's only a one year deal. So keep hoping Vikings fans, keep hoping.

SO CLOSE, BUT YET SO FAR

The Minnesota Vikings were in the bid to get T.J. Houshmanzadah as a free agent. They got so close to getting him, but he ended up at Seattle. That really stinks for Vikings fans, but there is still T.O. in free agency, so who knows.

GOPHERS SEEKING NEW OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR

The Minnesota Gopher football team is looking for a new offensive coordinator. Their top priority, Tom Heupel, the quarterback coach of the Oklahoma Sooners. Heupel, 30, a native from South Dakota, grew up a gopher fan. If Heupel does come over to th U, it will be a good addition to Gopher Nation.

NFL FINES ANOTHER PLAYER

The NFL fined Indianapolis Colt defensive end Dwight Freeny $20,000 for comments he made after the previous Saturdays loss versus the San Diego Chargers. He used two cuss words in criticizing the officiating crew at the end of the game. They called three defensive penalties on the Colts for the scoring drive that the Chargers had in OT.

BCS CHAMPIONS!

The Florida Gators, beat the Oklahoma Sooners 24-14. This game was tied after an Oklahoma touchdown in the fourth quarter, and was the first BCS Championship that was ever tied in the fourth quarter. Some of the keys plays for Florida were they had a goaline stand in the second quarter. Another key play was a blocked 47 yard field goal. And of course, that crirtical third down throw by Tim Tebow to keep the winning drive alive. Oklahoma's defense played great, picking off Tim Tebow twice in the first half. They just couldn't hold Florida. The Sooners played winning football, but not winning against the Gators football.
